Classic TMNT Season 3 coming this July!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles DVDs are the best way to help introduce the Ninja Turtles to younger generations and how to keep the spirit of the show alive with us older fans.  As we watch all of these new versions of the TMNT come to the market, a lot of us remember and hold close the original cartoon series.  Luckily for us, Lionsgate Home Entertainment has been keeping the property alive through DVD sets.  Now Lionsgate Home Entertainment is looking back at things the fans have wanted.  Coming this July, they are releasing Season 3 of the original TMNT cartoon series as a Season DVD set for the first time!

“Everybody’s favorite pizza-devouring crime fighting classic turtles are back when Lionsgate Home Entertainment releases Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Season 3 on DVD July 23. This collection brings together for the first time all 47 episodes of the entire third season of the classic ‘80s TV series in a 4-disc DVD set. Tap into radical turtle power and relive all the kung-fu action when Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Season 3 arrives for the suggested retail price of $19.98. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are bursting straight out of the sewer and ready for some mind-blowing mutant-morphing pizza-powered action! Raphael™, Donatello™, Michelangelo™, and Leonardo™ continue their epic quest to battle evil in this Complete Season 3 Collection, featuring 47 out-of-the-shell episodes. Join the green machine and their friends as they help to save the world against Krang™, Shredder™, Bebop™ and Rocksteady™ – one slice at a time.”

This is great news for DVD collectors who are trying to keep their collection complete and in order.  As a collector, I know I like to keep my collection complete as I can.  Originally, Season 3 was sold in Volumes 3, 4, 5 and 6 in their DVD release names.  People would often come to me and ask where these fit in, are these season episodes or out of order.  It confused more people than helped.

For those who don’t know the seasons apart, there were 47 episodes which introduced a lot of new characters.  Zach: the fifth Turtle, Rat King, and Casey Jones.  This is a very big part of TMNT history with a lot of great episodes with Rob Paulsen, Townsend Coleman, Barry Gordon, Cam Clarke, Renae Jacobs and so many other wonderful voice actors bringing these characters to life.

We will keep everyone updated as the DVD release gets closer, including a full review of this awesome set!
