Rise of TMNT Playmates Toys Leo Review : Store release

This week “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” started on Nickelodeon, in honor of this we’re reviewing the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fall toy line by Playmates Toys.  This toy line has 9 basic action figures, three of which has already been on Cowabunga Corner Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael.  This episode is a review for Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Leonardo Action Figure.

The video gives the first reaction of opening up these toys, though for the four turtles I got the San Diego set first.  That video will be shared after the four Turtles from the store release is uploaded.  And it will include a comparison write up of San Diego Turtles to the store release.  This story is basing thoughts only on the store release that is shown in the video.

The video was filmed at Playmates Toys in their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles room.  On this day I got to film 13 reviews, the nine action figures being released in Fall as well as the four Giant Turtles.  Leonardo is the forth toy as I am going by the order I normally like the Turtles in.

Out of the new toys the Leonardo design that throws me off, it’s like the head is too big or something.  He also does not have knee pads or elbow pads so his joints are all seen.  His legs turn around real easy to look weird.  Once I get all his joints pointing the right way, he still looks off and I can’t tell if it’s too short of legs, to long of a body or too big of a head.  There’s something off about Leonardo.

The Leonardo figure does fit in with the other three, and does look like him from the show.  Just has a few things that throws me off.  I’ve been able to use him for photo shoots from my Instagram to get some good photos.  I do like that I can tilt his head a certain way to make him happy and another way to make him look more upset.  That is one thing I do like about this toy.

What do you think of the Rise of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys? Are you planning to collect them?  Let us know your thoughts, comments and questions below!
