Cowabunga Corner #24

In this episode, I review the first five episodes of “Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation”. This five parter is titled “East meets West’.

I’ve been a fan of Ninja Turtles : The Next Mutation since it aired back in 1997. So I’m going to be doing episode reviews for this series as well as the other Ninja Turtles series. Here I talk about my thoughts on “East meets West” the five parter that kicked off “Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation”. And though I enjoy the series, these are not my favorite episodes within the series.

I go over the main plot, the characters and a little bit about the acting/editing of these five episodes. If you want to hear what I think just watch the blog.

Cowabunga Corner #23

In this episode of “Cowabunga Corner” I’m talking about the Viacom buy out of Ninja Turtles.

On October 21st, 2009, Peter Laird finished a sale of all TMNT, besides for the Mirage comic version to Viacom. Selling them for $60 Million. The sale was a surprise to everyone, as we all knew Ninja Turtles were having a big year with their cross country tour, comics, and the “Turtles Forever Movie” as well as the release of “Turtles Smash Up” video game. The last thing on any of our minds was them being sold.

Cowabunga Corner #21

In this episode of “Cowabunga Corner”, I get to interview Jim Martin, Leonardo’s puppeteerer from TMNT 3!

On June 28th, I got to meet up with Jim Martin at the Toonseum in Pittsburgh, PA. Jim Martin was the Puppeteerer for Leonardo in TMNT 3, so I asked him to join us for an interview and let the fans know what it was like working on the 3rd Ninja Turtle Movie.

This is our first interview on Cowabunga Corner I hope everyone enjoys!

Cowabunga Corner #20

In this episode I share video footage from July 1999 of the closing of the Words & Pictures Museum.

This is the Thank you speech to those who supported the Museum during the years that it was open. We also see Kevin get a few awards for the kindness he’s shared with others.  I filmed most of this video personally the other camera person was my sister Miki. I was filming through the full speech, I know the camera swings around a bit from time to time.

This episode the video was recorded in November 1990 as my dad made a Krang puppet, we called a hall costume. It’ll sit on our shoulders as we walk around and the mouth moves.

I was very lucky to grow up with my dad and his artistic talent. Michiganers know my dad from his work on a TV show called “The Ghoul” back in the 1970′s & 1980′s. The last few years my dad now works on a TV show called “Wolfman Mac’s Chriller Drive-in”. You can find a little bit of both of these shows here on youtube, and if you have the RTV (Retro Television) network you can watch Wolfman Mac at 10pm on Saturday.

Cowabunga Corner #19

In this episode of “Cowabunga Corner”, I talk about the Archie TMNT Comic Books!

I started to collect the Archie Turtle Comics in 1990. The story, the art, and the characters kept me craving more all the time. In this blog I talk a bit about the Archie comics, a series I highly recommend for everyone. Originally based off of the cartoon and than took it’s own direction.

Cowabunga Corner #18

In this episode of “Cowabunga Corner” I talk about the 4Kids TMNT DVDs.

I have been collecting the DVDs since they started to come out, and I’m really glad I have. I really think it’s great to have this series to where if I want to watch it, I can.

I’m disappointed that Back to the Sewers is not on DVD, I hope that it is released at some point to have the full series on DVD.

Did you collect the DVDs? What did you think of them? Do you encourage others to pick up the DVDs?

If you have not collected it, I do encourage people to pick it up, the DVDs are very affordable and worth the buy.

Cowabunga Corner #17

In this episode I talk about the TMNT 2007 Movie Toy line done by Playmate toys.

I collect all the different toy lines of the Turtles that I can get my hands on, and at some point I hope to go through all the different toy lines with reviews on my likes and dislikes. This may take awhile since Cowabunga Corner is doing a lot more stuff than toy reviews, though this is one of the things that will come up from time to time.

Please do share your feeling of the 2007 Toy line here in comments or in video replies. Always fun to hear a lot of people’s reviews and better for collectors out there deciding if they want to find and collect these items.

Cowabunga Corner #16

In this episode of “Cowabunga Corner” I give my review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 came out on March 19th, 1993. It did not make it as big as the other movies as the promotion wasn’t as active and the look has changed which discouraged a lot of people from going to see it. Henson’s Creature Shop was a big part of the first two movies and with them out of the picture, it would of taken more hype to get this movie where they would want it. Still it pulled in good size amount of fans to the theaters, as I worked the crowd at the different theaters in the Detroit area I got to see a lot of fans coming and going from the movie who really enjoyed what they saw.
