Review: Image TMNT #25

Last September, I reviewed a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Comic made by the fans. This comic was to pick up where Image left off to finish up the story and connect it to Mirage Volume 4, one of the biggest gaps in Ninja Turtle’s history that needed to be fixed.

Comics & More : A place to order TMNT Comics!

Throughout my time as a Ninja Turtles fan, I’ve been going to comic shops.  Even when I’m out of state if I see one and my interest is peaked I will check it out.  I enjoy going in and talking with the people who work at these shops and am always looking to make new friends.

Justice League: Doom DVD & Blu-Ray

There are so many cartoon franchises out there. Though, in my opinion, one of the best is those done by DC Comics, Bruce Timm, and Paul Dini. Batman: The Animated Series in the 90s, Superman: The Animated Series, and the Justice League Animated Series have some of the best stories and animation to have been brought to the small screen.

Hey Everyone,

Review: IDW Infestation 2 Ishcan

With IDW as the new publishers of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it was not going to be long for them to get a cross over.  Their first cross over comes out on March 7th, in a comic called “Dark Secrets of Infestation 2”.   Personally I do not normally read other comics outside of Ninja Turtles, so I have never read Infestation 1.

Movie Review: Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance

In 2007, Ghost Rider tarnished the movie screens with its poor acting, poor plot, and poor directing. Though it managed to make more than double it’s budget back in box office tickets, with over 50 million dollars made during the opening weekend. This was enough of a profit to justify a sequel.

Review "Change is Constant" Volume 1

Just months ago, IDW Publishing released their first issue of the new TMNT series, leaving all of us comic book fans in shock of just how new these Turtle comics were.  Up to date, six issues have been released of the normal series and two issues from the Mirco Series.  These are wonderful comics that have been keeping us on our toes.

IDW TMNT Valerio Schiti Interview!

IDW is giving us one new issue after another of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Comics.  They are keeping us excited with the stories and art work that we get with each issue.  For the normal series we have Dan Duncan as the lead artist doing each issue as guest artist get to do covers.  Though with the Mirco Series Brian Lynch is writing each one, the art work has been done by different artists each time.  For Donatello’s issue we have Valerio Schiti.

Cowabunga Corner got to the chance to catch up with Valerio and do an interview about how he got into art, and got the chance to do the art work for a TMNT Comic!

Thanks for taking the time for this interview.

CC: First question, what inspired you to become an artist?

Michele Ivey's "Cowabunga Corner" #75

In this episode I share a time when a group of Ninja Turtle fans got to visit Mirage Studios. They were in town for the Words & Pictures Museum and got invited to see the studio.

Mirage Studios was founded by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird and made it's mark on the map when they released the first Ninja Turtle comic in 1984. At that time there was no studio, though with the success of the Turtles, the studio became real. The first location was flooded out, so this is not the only building that has been Mirage. Though this building has been Mirage Studios for many years.

Review: IDW TMNT Micro Series #2

Welcome to my review of IDW TMNT Micro Series #2, still in the midst of catching up with comics that came out during the time of my surgery and while healing.  If you’d like to know more about the surgery and why I fell behind here on Cowabunga Corner, please read RSD Update.
