Kodak Moment #55

I got hundreds to thousands of photos through my life.  A lot of which would match up to stories here on Cowabunga Corner, but for one reason or another they are not chosen.  This does not mean that these photos are not worth sharing and do not hold stories of their own.  I would like to keep sharing what I can here on the site, so whenever I can I will share a photo and a story to go along with the photo.  If it’s a part of events that has been shared here, we will link back to the stories of the events themselves as well.  Hope everyone enjoys.  Today’s photo is me with James Tolkan.

Memory of James Avery

One could hope for some good news for starting off the New Year.  Though times remain to be rough all around.  Today, I write this with a heavy heart. I want to wish the family James Avery my deepest condolences.  While I have never met James, his talents and career has touched my life more than once.  He will be deeply missed.

James passed away on December 31st, 2013.  He recently had a surgery and things turned for the worse according to a TMZ report.  James was 65 years old, born on November 27th 1948.

Review: Youmacon 2012

Since 2005, I have been going to Youmacon, an Anime Con in Detroit, Michigan.  Youmacon is one of the largest fan gatherings in Detroit, with bands, voice actors, artists, and so much more.  It’s a place for cosplayers, gamers, and shoppers to gather.  Some of the guests are even connected to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which makes this one of my favorite events in Michigan.  This year’s convention had a handful of amazing people, so I’d like to share my review of Youmacon 2012.

Review: "The Raven"

Edgar Allan Poe was a great writer who lived a hard life.  In his final days, he was found out of it and taken to a hospital, where he died.  The facts of his death remain a mystery to this day.  A new movie is coming out this weekend called “The Raven”, which centers on a time where no one really knows what happened.  The movie comes up with it’s own myth for the death of Edgar Allan Poe, showing us the last few days of what could've been his life, an adventure story of mystery, death and romance.

Michele Ivey’s “Cowabunga Corner” #37

In this episode I talk about the TMNT 2007 movie. This movie came out in March 2007 as the first CGI TMNT Movie. With a lot of high hopes from the fans from the images that was scene before hand, we all had to go in and see what was done for us.
